1.
Luxury over survival, it ain’t convenient to give a damn. Deadbeat on arrival, your pity party is a public sham. I hear a lot of words but I don’t see action. At least I can say I try. All you ever really wanna is talk shit. When there’s fascists on the street, do something about it. If I can’t take em all, then I’ll die trying. Do it for Isidore, 1939. Put your money where your mouth is. Give it some elbow grease. Don’t worry. This ain’t rock bottom. What you’re tasting is just asphalt.
2.
If you ain’t still about it now, then you never really were and all the bad checks that you cashed with your mouth are about to bounce on your ass. This hammer shatters glass and also forges steel. Temper us with fire and then know the difference. Don’t think about drowning, learn to swim. Forget about bleeding, sweat to win. Don’t think about the outcome, bear your burden with a grin. If you want all the answers, better grab them with your fist. You won’t know what hit you. You won’t see me coming. It was a difficult task on such short notice but here it is carried to completion. Off the top of my head, on the tip of my tongue, from the bottom of my heart, at the top of my lungs.
3.
Cut the crap and get your shit together for your own sake. No more bitching, just handle your business and be done with it. I won’t ask you to fight my war. You know me, it’s implied. You knew the moment we met, the first time we locked eyes. Worst foot forward, right direction. We gotta catch up to keep up. There's not a thing you could say to make me see it any other way. Be the master of your fate and leave the past at the door. Sorrows are ending. Fractures are mending. Time for better days. Hope is what we treasure and hold forever. We’ll do whatever it takes. Take some chances. Make some mistakes. Let’s get messy.
4.
When the ghosts of your past come to collect on your death, you can take the grave that I climbed out of. You know you brought this on yourself. I’ve been trying to tell you. There’s not enough of my heart left to love anyone. There’s not enough of my heart left for anyone to love. So I’m tearing out the rest starting today. You’ll swallow every ounce of pain you fed to me. This stings my eyes and burns my throat but I won’t be blind nor will I choke. Before my time is done, I’ll look down on your corpse and smile. I relish each stage of your decay and I flourish further as you decline.
5.
We have felt the agony of hearts ripped from sundered chest yet here we stand no stranger to misfortune. We won’t be buried beneath the whims of cruel men who fashion themselves as gods. So I’ll continue smashing my face with these bricks. Counting fragments of teeth and all the blessings I’ve missed. You who are without mercy now plead for it? I thought you were made of stronger stuff. Do we hold on or do we let go? Do we go against the grain or with the flow? Gripping the gears of this merciless machine, gnashing teeth with unbridled hubris. Ignite the ember. Give it breath, give it tinder. Wreck havoc with might and main.
6.
You’re only dancing to the yank of strings until they form a noose around your neck. How can you be so idle and passive in a life dangling from a fraying thread to be tethered or to be severed, may we with valor strike strong and swift tonight. Break out, let the freak out. This world’s afraid of what we’ve become. We are the genius, you knew what we would become. We will tear down every fucking wall that you built from our blood, sweat and tears. We are your fear, and we are here. Now take a stand. Don’t look back. Seize glory. Don’t give up. We’ll give it all we got just to get ahead.
7.
Don’t forget to tell your friends. We heard you got knocked down again. You do your dance through the cemetery. Pick up your feet. You’re gonna get buried. Harder to get up than to fall down. You’re feeling sick, mighty weary. Everybody’s looking kinda scary. You try to breathe, you know you can’t. All you can do is try to stand. What up, son? Listen here a sec. You think they’re smurfed of you? No they ain’t! Now you get up, go the smurf over there, and show those mothersmurfers the same mothersmurfin disrespect.
